Wishbone has new art on its walls: vintage photos from Matthew Nickerson's Lake View book, a visual history of our neighborhood that was published last year. The photos give glimpses of life on the blocks around us during the 20th century, when Wishbone's building was a Kresge store; Lake Viewers spoke German and street cars ran down Lincoln Avenue.
Many will look very familiar to some while others are baffling and worth reading about in Nickerson's book.
The photos are for sale for $45 (contact Nickerson at firstname.lastname@example.org. The books are for sale at our cash register for $21.99 plus tax. The show will be up through September. . . . so there's time to wander down Memory Lane in the Couloir Bleu.
